A rare and cute little brooch from the 1930s!
Two little West Highland Terriers set in a frame. Westies or 'Scottie Dogs were a very popular subject in designs and patterns in the 1930s.
The Westies are made of early cellulose/plastic and I am guessing meant to be a boy and a girl based on the colour of their collars. They are detailed in the moulding and full of character with painted features.
They are set onto a gold tone metal frame. This has a pin to the back with a gold over 'C' clasp.
It is in good vintage condition for it's age. It shows some tarnishing to the metal and a little wear to the painted features of the dogs. See images.
I have not attempted to clean it as I prefer to let it's new owner decide whether to clean/polish it up. Some people, myself included, prefer to see the patina age of a piece in its as found condition.
