This is a beautiful Trifari necklace dating to 1950 and designed by their renowned head creative Alfred Phillipe.
The necklace has a stunning and intricate pendant which slides on a gold tone serpentine chain. It is designed to sit at the throat on a slender neck. See measurements below.
It is made in a gold tone metal and the pendant features amber coloured and clear Swarovski crystal rhinestones.
It is in excellent vintage condition and has a signed 'TRIFARI PAT PEND' fold over clasp which is firm.
We have researched this particular design and it was patented in 1950. See image of the original design patent.
In 1930 Alfred Philippe joined Trifari as head designer. Considered a top master craftsman in fine jewellery for Cartier and Van Cleef and Arples. His designs became very popular especially the well known designs known as fruit salad (also known as Tutti Frutti) jewellery. Je remained as designer at Trifari until the late 1960s.
