This is a rare 1930s/early 40s metal telephone brooch. It a novelty souvenir piece which we believe is from Blackpool based on the tower featured at the centre.
The detail is lovely with a chain for the telephone wire, nine blue diamante stones for the numbers, a mother of pearl dial featuring a metal plaque of Blackpool Tower. The dial also rotates!
It has a pin to the back with a 'C' clasp.
It is in good condition for it's age (few novelty brooches from this era survive intact) and is stamped ' MADE IN ENGLAND' on the back.
I have not attempted to clean it as I prefer to let it's new owner decide whether to clean/polish it up. Some people, myself included, prefer to see the patina age of a piece in its as found condition. It has a tiny bit of verdigris on the back and general surface tarnishing in places. See images
However for those who love this era it is a rare find and a lovely wearable talking point (literally!)
