This is a cute check patterned wool two piece skirt suit dating to around the late 1950s or early 1960s.
Because we know vintage sizing can be tricky with suits (waist sizes being relatively smaller to the jacket sizes than they are now) we have made this available to purchase as a complete suit or as two separate pieces.
Made in Scotland in 100% pure virgin wool, it has a colour palette typical of the Scottish landscape. Muted heathery greys, browns and greens. It features a neat waisted jacket with a matching flared skirt.
The suit is beautifullly tailored as evidenced by the matching of the check pattern across all aspects of the jacket including the sleeves and collar.
The fully lined jacket has small plain leather covered buttons in dark brown, bracelet length/three quarter sleeves with matching leather button trimmed fold back half cuffs. It has a neat high collar with curved lapels. It has two small pockets above the bust; one faux and one open.
The skirt is fully lined, panelled and has a slight kick flare half way down. It has a metal side zip measuring 8ins. The closure at the waist band is a press stud with two inner hooks and eyes.
The suit is in good vintage condition. However; although the lining is intact it shows signs of wear, small repairs and staining at the armpits. In our opinion this does not distract from it wearability.
