Dating to around the 1930s/40s it is made of brass toned metal (probably brass) in the form of a tied bow. It features pierced cut out crescent moons and stars.
It has a pin to the back which fastens into an elongated 'C' clasp.
It is in excellent condition. The brooch has been cleaned but not polished. If the new owner were to polish it it should come up brighter. I prefer to leave that choice, rather than take away the patina of age which I think adds to its charm and history.
