Make a breathtaking statement with this beautiful vintage Accessocraft NYC station necklace.
Spanning an impressive 60 inches, this rare sautoir balances runway drama with the intricate artistry of Italian-style millefiori art glass.
Crafted during the pinnacle of Accessocraft’s design era (circa 1960s/1970s), this highly collectible piece features hefty, rich gold-electroplated twisted rope chains punctuated by vibrant red mosaic (flecked with blue, green and white) glass stations and spacer beads. There are eight glass stations set at even paced intervals along the chain.
Whether worn long and fluid or layered into multi-strands, it brings instant, curator-level sophistication to modern styling.
This necklace is in excellent condition. It carries a classic spring ring clasp (Can be doubled or tripled without unclasping). All glass cabochons are securely bezel-set. The carbochons and spacer beads are fully intact, and free of chips, cracks, or surface dulling.
It carries the stamped 'Accessocraft' 'NYC' tag at the clasp link.
The dramatic 60-inch length makes this piece an incredibly versatile styling weapon for your wardrobe:
- The Dramatic Sautoir: Wear it full length over a sleek black turtleneck, cream silk blouse, or a minimalist slip dress to elongate your silhouette.
- The Layered Look: Double it up for a classic mid-length layered chain aesthetic.
- The Statement Choker: Wrap it three times around the neck for a dense, high-fashion multi-strand choker look.
- The Flapper Knot: Tie a loose, elegant knot at the chest for a classic 1970s-does-1920s vintage vibe.
Founded in New York City in the 1930s, Accessocraft NYC was renowned for its substantial, high-quality costume jewelry.
Known for their distinct Byzantine, Renaissance, and Egyptian Revival designs, they utilized heavy gold plating and exceptional art glass to create jewelry meant to mimic fine museum antiquities. Because Accessocraft closed its doors in 1998, these beautifully preserved, signed statement pieces have become highly sought-after by international collectors and vintage fashion enthusiasts alike.
