This is a beautiful faux satin midi skirt by Shelana of London. A brand often sold through small independent boutiques in the 1970s/80s.
It features vertical stripes in two shades of purple and black. The black stripes have gold lurex pinstripes within. The stripes run horizontally at the bottom in a deep 6 inch border.
Pleated into the 2inch wide waistband it has just the right amount of volume to the skirt without being too much.
It fastens at the back of the waistband with two matching covered buttons and has a 7 inch nylon zip.
Made in England from 98% polyester and 2% polyamide it has a slightly stiff feeling with a sheen like satin. The label indicates it is hand washable.
Wear with a soft slouchy black cashmere knit with boots for a dressed down feel or add a silk top and some gold statement jewellery for a special occasion. You decide!
