This is a very unusual and striking brooch dating to the 1960s/60s.
At the centre is a large deep cut glass stone in a deep red. It is claw set in a wirework bezel and is surrounded by hollow ridged folded petals.
These lightweight petals are articulated so fall and move with the brooches movement. See video.
The base metal is a matt gold tone which perfectly emphasises the beautiful cut glass red stones.
It has a pin to the back with a roll safety catch.
Please note the brooch is quite heavy and the petals naturally fall when the brooch is pinned. We advise it is suited to heavier weight fabrics such as a coat or jacket.
It is stamped '41' on the back. This is probably a model/size reference.
It is in excellent condition with some slight abrasions to the metal at the back.
