This is a lovely brooch dating to the 1980s by Butler and Wilson.
Shape as a slithering snake it is in gold tone metal. It has the pattern of it's skin featured with little diamante set triangles and has two little red stones for eyes.
Fully stamped on the back with the 'B&W' plaque it also interestingly carries a 'Sphinx' stamp. This is because Sphinx manufactured costume jewellery for various high end brands including Butler and Wilson. This collaboration was during the 70s/80s. This further established this as an old and collectable piece.
It has a pin to the back and a roll over safety clasp.
