Statement Lacroix Sweety!

A striking pair of heart shaped Christian Lacroix clip earrings in gold tone metal. These date to the 1990s, are gold plated and feature the Lacroix logo in the centre of each earring. 

They are signed to the back on an oval plaque: 'Christian Lacroix Made in France' with the Lacroix logo.

Lacroix began his career at Hermes, where he got a job as a fashion journalist. Then in 1981, Lacroix moved to work at  Jean Patou.

After receiving the prestigious CFDA award as the most successful designer of the year in 1987, He then created his own brand. And in 1988, he had already released his first collection of clothes. In 1989, he launched created his own line of accessories including jewellery.

He traditionally created bizarre shapes, intricate designs and massive elaborated decoration. From his jewellery collections, his two favorite themes in costume jewelry were hearts and crosses.

His style was distinctively different but observed originality and his own luxurious signature style. His pieces are instantly recognisable.

Lacroix was the often mentioned and 'go to' designer of Edina (Jennifer Saunders) in the1990s TV series Ab Fab. More recently, vintage Lacroix earrings have been spotted being worn by Villanelle (Jodie Comer) in the recent Killing Eve series
